צרות כלכליות באנגליה. לפני כמה ימים נקלע לצרות בנק המשכנתאות NORTHERN ROCK, שהוא בין היתר גם הספונסר של ניוקאסל. הבנק ביקש מ-BANK OF ENGLAND הלוואה כספית, וזה פעם ראשונה ב-30 שנה שזה קורה לאיזשהו בנק באנגליה בכלל. מייד נהרו עשרות אלפי לקוחות הבנק לכל סניפיו ברחבי אנגליה, ואנשים עומדים בתורים ארוכים במשך כל היום, כדי להיכנס לסניף ,ולמשוך את הכסף שיש להם. מניית החברה הספיקה להתמוטט ביותר משליש. היום ראיתי בעצמי את המראה העצוב של מאות אנשים עומדים בתור ענקי ליד אחד מסניפי הבנק בלונדון.
